Descripción

Nabati Oud by Astrophil & Stella is an oriental woody creation designed for men and women. Launched in 2025, this new fragrance was composed by Christian Provenzano. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of rum, star anise, cardamom, saffron, bergamot, cinnamon, and ambrette musk; a heart that reveals oud wood, leather, aquatic notes, Turkish rose, iris, and davana; and a warm, persistent base of oud wood, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, vetiver, vanilla, and amber.

As a perfume collector, I wanted to try animalized oud to better understand this trendy wood, but I was afraid my nose wasn’t ready. At a famous niche store in Mexico City, I tried this scent and loved it instantly. It starts citrusy-spiced with a soft animalized oud that isn’t repulsive like more intense versions. That cheese-like smell fades in 30 minutes, leaving pure elegance that projects for about 3 hours and lasts 10 to 12 on skin. It’s definitely one of my favorites; it helped me understand the challenging side of oud and prepare me for bigger challenges. I recommend it if you want to safely explore this oriental note with its animal facet.

I’ve always been a perfume fan and have been collecting for a while. I wanted to step up to animal ouds to better understand this trendy wood, but I’d had fragrances my nose couldn’t handle before. Luckily, during a visit to a well-known niche store in CDMX, I found this scent that won me over immediately. It starts with a citrus-spiced top note and a very soft animal oud, without that repulsive ‘cheese’ effect that turns experts off. That sensation fades in about 30 minutes, leaving pure elegance that projects for about 3 hours and lasts 10 to 12 on skin. It’s definitely one of my favorites; it helped me understand the challenging side of oud and prepare me for bigger challenges on this olfactory journey. I highly recommend it if you want to explore this oriental note with its animal facet.

  • Hey, I already owned Nabati and bought this because it sounded incredible, like a dream come true. ‘Nabati plus Oud? Sounds like the ultimate perfume.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. At first, only the oud stands out, a fecal oud—I openly say it smells like shit; I don’t know if those who say it smells like a stable do it out of finesse or because they’ve never smelled real oud, but this one smells like shit. After an hour or two, it drops and blooms into a dizzying scent of talc, hairspray, and an elderly person. I have no idea what atrocity they did to my Nabati, but it’s gone downhill. The longevity is amazing, that’s true. The evolution, however, is questionable. After suffering through the first 4 hours, where I just wanted olfactory fatigue and days with my nose taped shut, it settles into a soft projection of an elegant, rounded scent on skin. Is the bad initial experience worth the drydown after 4 hours? Absolutely not. Is it that bad? Yes, horrible. Is it Nabati or an improved Nabati? No. It’s an assassination attempt on Nabati, which fortunately doesn’t even come close. Anyone who says it’s citrus either can’t smell or had an olfactory stroke from the putrefaction at the start; there’s no way around it. It’s not subjective. The sky is blue, and Nabati Oud smells like shit.

  • Hey, I grabbed the Nabati Oud because the hype sounded like a dream come true, like ‘the ultimate perfume’. Turns out it’s the exact opposite. At first, that oud is pure manure; I don’t know if people who say it smells like a stable do it out of politeness or because they’ve never smelled real oud, but this one smells like shit. After two hours, it drops a notch and starts smelling like talc, hairspray, and an eighty-year-old grandma. I have no idea what they did to my Nabati, but it’s gone downhill. The longevity is brutal, yes, but the evolution is terrible. After four hours of suffering—when I just wanted my nose to shut down forever—it settles into a skin scent that’s elegant and rounded. Is the bad initial experience worth that final note? Absolutely not. Is it that bad? Yes, horrible. Is it Nabati or an improved version? Not even close. It’s an attempt to kill the original Nabati. Anyone who says it’s citrus either can’t smell or had an olfactory stroke from the rotting start. It’s not subjective: the sky is blue, and Nabati Oud smells like shit.
