I don’t know what YSL does, but every time they launch something, they never disappoint. Muse is very peculiar; if you’ve smelled Blanche Bête, you’ll get the idea of its base. The opening is loud, with a prominent ink note that lingers for about an hour. As it dries down, what stands out is a creamy, super-sweet iris paired with vanilla and musk. It’s not a soft perfume—I noticed it throughout its entire life, around 9 hours. With every movement or change in posture, it reminds you it’s there; it doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue and feels like a warm coat that provides comfort. If you’re part of the ‘tired of lifeless commercial scents’ crew, I recommend giving it a try. It breaks the mold. For me, it’s a 10 and totally unisex.
