Midnight Diving from Salum Parfums is a 2026 woody aquatic fragrance made for men and women. It was composed by perfumer Luca Maffei.
Instead of a sunny beach scent, it pictures the ocean after dark: cool air on top, green salty water in the middle, and a deep woody floor underneath.
The opening blends marine notes, bergamot, aldehydes, pepper, Timur and airy notes. It feels breezy and ozonic, with citrus lift and a peppery spark over salt.
The heart brings in jasmine, patchouli, seaweed, violet leaves, lily and neoprene. White flowers add brightness, while seaweed and violet leaf turn greener and damper, and neoprene gives a sleek wetsuit-like edge.
The drydown settles into oud wood, leather, vetiver, myrrh and ambergris. Leather adds a controlled animalic touch, vetiver keeps it grounded, myrrh softens with balsamic warmth, and ambergris holds the salty trail.
Across the wear you get aquatic, marine, aromatic and ambery sides, plus white floral, leather and warm spice highlights. The shift from airy to dense is the main story.
