A very subtle and versatile perfume, ideal for adult men with a young spirit. Rosemary comes out, reminding me a lot of Issey Miyake’s Eau Bleue, but cinnamon quickly takes over the scent without being very long-lasting, though it says ‘here I am’. The dry down is the best part: soft patchouli and subtle vanilla emerge, leaving you with the last three hours of an exquisite, elegant, and unobtrusive scent. The only negative is that I would have swapped the intensity of the cinnamon for the patchouli, but that’s my personal taste. It’s very cheap and a good perfume for daily wear for lovers of green and woody scents. Oh, you won’t smell like an old man at all.

Subtle luck and versatile, perfect for mature men with a young soul. It opens with rosemary reminiscent of Issey Miyake’s Eau Bleue, but soon cinnamon takes over without being too long-lasting, making its presence felt. The best part is the dry down: a soft patchouli and subtle vanilla that keep the last three hours exquisite, elegant, and unobtrusive. My only gripe is that I’d prefer more patchouli than cinnamon, but that’s just my taste. It’s very affordable and a great daily scent for lovers of green and woody notes. Forget the ‘old man’ smell; this one is spot on.

I just didn’t connect with it; it feels too ambiguous for my taste. The longevity and sillage are very discreet. The opening and the dry down just don’t convince me.

Although it says it’s for men, I absolutely loved that spicy scent, especially because I adore rosemary and sage, so delicately outlined, which instantly reminded me of the delicious Spicebomb, so I adopted it. I tried it on a fresh spring day and didn’t notice the other notes, only these two that I love. Its projection isn’t the best on the current market, but it’s not bad either; what is phenomenal is its longevity on skin, in my case at least 7 hours 🙂

To be honest, I bought it blindly because according to Fragrantica it’s the closest to Casual Friday, one of my favorite fragrances that sadly disappeared. Yes, it reminds me quite a bit: a scent that breaks the current mold. It doesn’t smell like vanilla even though it has it, no caramel, no sweetness, no ambroxan, just spices, cinnamon, and above all lavender. It’s a clean scent, but not soapy like Prada Amber; it’s a universal clean that doesn’t offend or draw attention over others. Clearly daytime; if you wear it at night, Ultramale, XS Night, or One Million will eat you alive. I love it; for its specific moments, it’s a winner.

I bought it blind because Fragrantica says it’s the closest to Casual Friday, my favorite fragrance that no longer exists. And yes, it reminds me of it a lot. Truly a special and exquisite fragrance. The lavender blends perfectly with the cinnamon at the start, then gives way to a soft rosemary without losing the cinnamon touch. Magnificent, although for an EDP, both the longevity and sillage are somewhat limited. 7/10.

To me, it’s a nocturnal, elegant, Parisian lavender. Lavender in men’s perfumery often veers too sweet, cloying, and overwhelming, like in Caron Le Male… but that’s not the case here with Mauboussin. There’s true elegance and savoir-faire.

To me, it’s a nighttime lavender, elegant and Parisian. Lavender in men’s perfumery sometimes errs on the side of being too sweet, tiring, or overwhelming, like in Caron Le Male… but that’s not the case with Mauboussin. Here, there is elegance and good taste.

Where have I heard this before? I love oriental fragrances more than I thought, yes, but I need them to feel distinct from one another, and here it feels like just another oriental. It reminds me quite a bit of CK Obsession, just less intense but fairly similar. It opens with a lavender that isn’t clean, rather sweetened by cinnamon and vanilla. It builds on a base of patchouli and musk that lingers until the end. I detect a green note, possibly rosemary, and a very soft, unobtrusive wood. Moderate longevity and sillage.

At first, a very subtle sweet cinnamon that blends with vanilla and perhaps an almost imperceptible touch of lavender. Rosemary must be there, but I don’t notice it. Bergamot either. The warmth of the cinnamon softens as it blends with the vanilla, and it’s the lavender that really comes through in the heart. The skin scent is sweet and soft, with sandalwood and perhaps more vanilla than cinnamon. Sweet without being cloying, very pleasant. Longevity and projection are average.

At first, a very subtle sweet cinnamon blending with vanilla and perhaps an even more subtle lavender… The rosemary must be there, but I don’t detect anything of it. Neither does the bergamot. The warmth of the cinnamon softens over time, though it dominates alongside the vanilla, while the lavender truly emerges in the heart. The dry-down is sweet and soft, with sandalwood and perhaps more vanilla than cinnamon. Sweet without being cloying… very pleasant. Medium longevity and sillage.

This fragrance is an explosion of spices, especially the rosemary which gives it that raspy character. It has spectacular longevity, though it can feel a bit heavy for my taste; however, it wears beautifully on the skin. I recommend it for cold seasons, especially for evenings.

I just received it and I must say it smells good but not very good, in my opinion. I applied it this morning and it smells too much of cinnamon with a quite soapy touch, perhaps due to the bergamot, which lasts a long time. When the perfume dries, the cinnamon stabilizes but the soapy touch remains, something I don’t find in many perfumes where the soapy opening lasts only 10 minutes before moving to the great essences. This perfume is the opposite: the bergamot stays at maximum exposure while the spices should be in the background. In short, I see it as too much for people older than me. I haven’t found any vanilla, only huge amounts of cinnamon at the start and a cloying soapy note. I suspend it: 3/10.

Another fragrance that breaks the mold. Everything is blended so well it’s hard to separate the notes: it starts with a very well-cared-for cinnamon, adds vanilla, and leaves a touch of lavender at the base. The result smells weird but delicious, like fresh baby milk, though with a caramelized twist. The longevity isn’t beastly as one might expect from an EDP, but it lasts a long time. The projection is just right: it doesn’t invade, but it doesn’t go unnoticed either. If you like oriental scents, you have to try this. Greetings from Chile!
