I tried Matcha Date hoping to catch the matcha tea vibe, but in the end, I’ll have to look for it in Asian stores (those who truly love ceremonial grade will understand). The fragrance opens with a potent citrus burst of bergamot and mandarin 🍊, though later you can detect hints of lemon and green tea (though the citrus notes are definitely the stars here). It’s fresh and clean; the drydown smells a bit odd to me, probably that woody note giving it a masculine touch, but the citrus never fades. The longevity is over 8 hours, so I’ll be enjoying this a lot in summer since citrus scents usually don’t last long for me. If you’re looking for something sweet, this isn’t for you, but if you want realistic citrus scents, especially that distinct lemon smell 🍋, this is your perfume.
