I absolutely love it and it brings back very pleasant memories of a trip to South America where I visited several countries. I bought it at the Paraguay border. For me, it’s very pleasant and strong, yet the scent lasts throughout the day. Cheers!
Much less rebellious than its name suggests; it should have been called ‘The Innocent.’ Jourdan’s Insolente (from the shoe house) is almost a single-note peach fragrance. The opening was glorious; if it had stayed that way, it would have been more interesting. It smelled like fruit gum or fruity shampoo—sparkling shampoo, a macedonia in orange and pink tones with a luminous body and really cool sparkles. Today, fruity or sweet scents have a different texture, stickier and more repetitive. Insolente’s fruity sweetness isn’t natural but very skillfully crafted to remind you of those discontinued fruit macedonia gums, which are now all more acidic and tart. This gum is soaked, overflowing with pulp and foam; it’s super sweet but not overwhelming. Add tuberose to that frantic fruity vibe and it becomes a feast of indulgence. Unfortunately, that promising opening faded quickly to give way to a duller perfume: a very realistic, young, smooth peach with a tiny fuzz, nothing like the sexual, liquor-filled peaches of Grosjman. This one was innocent, natural, and youthful. That was its tone until its decline: refreshing peach with a hint of spice and wood. It wasn’t memorable but also not bad, perhaps a bit flat. P.S.: Edited to add that I hadn’t seen the previous review where the same point was made: it’s more innocent than rebellious and has that shampoo vibe. The bottle is a masterpiece.
Delicious! I have a tiny 3.75 ml original bottle from the 80s. It’s a charming, sweet, floral, and fruity aroma. It feels more ‘innocent’ than ‘insolent,’ with notes of pineapple, neroli, moss, and cedar standing out. Personally, it evokes something childlike and clean—like vintage bar soaps, shampoo, and lotions. It’s a ‘luminous’ perfume that radiates joy and carefree spirit, like that almost-woman teenager who still keeps a girl’s insolence. Unfortunately, like everything good, it has been discontinued.

Far less insolent than its name suggests; ‘L’Innocent’ would have been more fitting. Jourdan’s Insolente (from the shoe house) is an almost single-note peach scent. Editing to add that I hadn’t seen the previous review where this was noted and I agree: it’s more innocent than insolent and has that shampoo vibe. The bottle is a gem.
My 20s favorite. It left a trail and everyone asked about it; nobody else wore it. What a shame it was discontinued. It slipped under the radar but still drew attention, very pleasant. At the time, Loewe’s Aire was all the rage.
