2013 batch, a 15th birthday gift. Old-school vibe, like my grandfather’s green barbershop soap. Doesn’t hook me: at 27, it smells fecal and mossy, which I don’t like, but if it weren’t for that, it’d be excellent. Classic and decent for the price. Ideal for guys over 50, cold/cool evenings, or bedtime. $15. If your nose can handle that dirty nuance, it’s a perfect pick.

Batch from 2013, a gift when I was 15. Very old-school aroma, smells like old green soap from a barbershop or my grandfather’s shaving creams but with different touches. Now that I’m 27, it doesn’t convince me; it’s not a bad smell, but I detect something fecal or dirty, mossy, which I hate; without that, it would be excellent. It’s a classic scent that feels quality for the price. I see it for people 50 and up. Longevity: the last spray lasted about 7 hours, but the projection is only about an hour close to the skin. Occasions: if you like it, for casual wear or for sleeping. Seasons: temperate to cold climates and at night. Price: $15. Recommendation: if you like classic scents, you’re over 50, and your nose doesn’t pick up that fecal note, it’s a perfect option because the aroma is decent for what you pay.

It’s my dad’s signature scent; he’s had over 100 bottles since 2000 and never tried anything else. I didn’t like it before—it seemed repulsive—but now I love it because it smells like him. It brings back memories of waking up early to shave with his green JF9 and head off to work. A scent full of nostalgia.

Note: It doesn’t smell like patchouli or incense; those notes are just placebo. I don’t detect dry tobacco or honeyed smoke. It dries down to oakmoss (pine soap, creamy green) and white musks (clean, soft, sweet laundry). Blessings.

Jafra scents often have a weak opening due to lack of oxygen at my altitude (2,500m). When first opened, they smell synthetic and fade fast, but after letting them breathe for a couple of months, they improved significantly. If it helps you, blessings.

Just added to my collection: very citrusy and herbal opening with lemon and absinthe, very pleasant. Spiced heart and earthy base with woods, incense, and amber. It’s the classic 70s/80s take, reminding me of Carlo Corinto, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, and Halston Z14. The closest match is Quorum by Puig—deeper and more animalic—but this wins on versatility for spring and fall. A bit synthetic, but it smells better than other Jafra scents. For under $20, it’s worth it. The senior sales associate said it was the best, and she was right. Old is new again.

At $20, it deserves a review. I hesitated at first due to a lack of reviews, but it was a surprise. It’s undervalued. Standard citrus opening, but the dry-down is another world: lemonade-like (orange with lemon), then patchouli and wood emerge, followed by that delightful absinthe note. Yes, it’s synthetic, but the price explains it. Dark incense base. Linear development, moderate performance with 3-4 sprays. Smells clean, talcum-powdery, and soapy. After JF9 Red and NUUD, it’s my favorite from the brand.
