I’ve tried several Tom Ford fragrances, and this Japon Noir is, without a doubt, the worst. Sometimes a great perfume just isn’t for you or doesn’t work with your skin, and this one is definitely not for me. It starts with a green note, but mixed with the amber that kicks in almost immediately, it becomes sweet and amber-heavy, though very sparingly—something it really needed. After half an hour, or maybe an hour, since it doesn’t last on the skin at all, the only thing I notice is a hint of patchouli, bergamot, and that amber that lingers throughout the fragrance’s life. As I said, on my skin it’s barely there. No single note stands out above the others. The trail is very weak, and on my skin, it didn’t last more than an hour. Definitely, Japon Noir just wasn’t made for me.
