Above 25 degrees, In Gear goes crazy: it smells like nearly overripe pineapple mixed with clove and leather, a synthetic cocktail that makes me want to throw up, almost like a headache recipe. If the temperature drops (between 5 and 20 degrees), it changes completely: the scent becomes much more wearable. There’s a vibrant pineapple base; some say it’s red plum, but I still detect pineapple, just softer. The clove blends with lavender and patchouli, giving it a subtly woody touch—less spicy and more balanced. In the dry down, a leather base adds presence and a more serious vibe. Longevity is around 4-5 hours, which is decent for the price, which was about 55 euros for 100ml. My advice: it’s only worth it if you test it first, because blind buys are much safer and more pleasant. In the cold, In Gear is curious and characterful, but it’s too volatile and risky to recommend.
