Imperial by Boadicea the Victorious is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2012, the nose behind this composition is Christian Provenzano. The top notes unfold Brazilian rosewood, lavender, birch, and angelica; the heart reveals geranium, rose, freesia, and jasmine; while the base settles on a foundation of oud wood, guaiac wood, labdanum, leather, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, cyperus, and musk.

Imperial follows in the footsteps of Xerjoff’s Alexandria 2 or Tom Ford’s Oud Wood: a fresh woody scent. Opening with exotic woods and lavender, heart of leather and florals that balance the blend. Very easy to wear, great performance. Leans more masculine, though in perfumery everyone sets their own rules. Nice scent, not heavy or annoying, good quality. Didn’t surprise me when I tried it, but I liked how it’s blended. Functional for daily wear without being tiring. Not the top pick from Boadicea, but it’s a great entry into the English house for around $300 if you’re looking for quality, price, and ease. I like it!
A gem from this house with the advantage of being in their affordable line. Smells niche but isn’t pretentious… it stands out without needing to smell like an 18th-century stable. Good longevity and projection. While many say it’s for fall/winter, I think it works year-round, just don’t overdo it in summer or it will be too much. One of the best blind buys from this brand.
Fragrance for everything: works well with casual or formal attire. The oud and leather are very accessible, blending perfectly with amber, lavender, and floral notes. Result: an excellent scent for any weather and time of day.
