I’m not sure how to review this properly… It opens with a citrusy, ambered vibe and an earthy touch. Seconds later, the vetiver and Egyptian papyrus emerge, smelling very much like Timbuktu by L’Artisan. It leaves a balsamic sensation softened by vanilla and cardamomo until it fades. It has little to do with Hommage à l’Homme; this is different, reminding me a bit of Diavolo by Antonio Banderas or Fahrenheit by Dior. Projection and longevity are moderate; it doesn’t last more than 6 hours on skin.
I like it. Opens with bergamot and a potent cardamomo. Then the vetiver and a subtle patchouli kick in, giving it an earthy touch while the papyrus dries everything out. The base notes fade away. It reminds me of Timbuktu and L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Intense, but of the three, Miyake’s is the best. Very versatile for all seasons and times of day. Long-lasting longevity, moderate projection.
A scent that breaks the mold. On my skin, the opening isn’t citrusy; the cardamomo fades quickly to let the vetiver and papyrus shine through: serious and mature. Over time, it gains creaminess from the vanilla, though that takes away some of its seriousness for me. It smells great—noticeable without being overwhelming. Perfect for the office and daily wear, but zero for hot weather. Scent 7/10, longevity 7/10, projection 6.5/10, value 9/10, versatility 8/10, packaging 10/10. Would I buy it again? Maybe.
Smells like Dylan Blue but with a more mature, formal twist thanks to the vetiver and vanilla.
