  Oils from a century ago… ⏳ Russian Adam (as always) brings us a fragrance that transports you to another era and fills you with nostalgia. ➡️ The opening: floral with a mentholated touch and bitter, intense citrus notes (bergamot and lemon) that greet you. Bitter? Yes, I’ll explain. These aren’t the juicy citrus fruits of today, but 1920s citrus—they smell like time has taken its toll and they’ve lost their juiciness. I’m not saying it negatively, just describing what I detect. The scent is very special, very vintage. It has a slightly powdery texture. A bit of patchouli in the background, over a light amber base. That’s Grandenia. An “old school chypre” fragrance that will be appreciated by those who like this genre and classic perfumery. 🔎 I detect a hint of rose, even though it’s not in the ingredients. It’s unlikely a young person will appreciate “Grandenia.” Besides, it features 30-year-old organic oud along with black ambergris, among others like indolic gardenia (though I don’t smell gardenia, by the way), yet there’s no animalic scent. The other notes add nuances, and together they result in a classic floral. Moderate performance, unisex. It’s not a fragrance to lose your mind over, but one to be appreciated since it’s collectible, just like everything Russian Adam creates. Good fragrance, nothing more.
