  • Christmas gift. I was surprised by its longevity, especially considering the price. Highly recommended if you need to gift something but are on a tight budget.

  • I bought this cologne so many times when I was twenty and broke; it was my favorite back then. Finding it at a supermarket today was a pleasant surprise.

  • How many times did I buy this cologne when I was twenty and had little money in my pockets; it was my favorite option. Today, finding it in a supermarket pleasantly surprised me.

  • A citrusy and rough floral, like feeling a cat’s tongue soaked in bleach. It’s another fragrance that’s been around in my house since I was a kid thanks to my mother, who hates oriental, sweet, and opulent perfumes. Instead, she adores green, citrusy scents, and colognes. This is exactly the type of fragrance I associate with her: floral with an aseptic, astringent, and bitter edge. Longevity and sillage are more than decent. And it just has that Puig quality… personality. Fleur de Jour smells exactly like that, Fleur de Jour.

A lily of the valley with zero pretension plus a clean, potent green vibe… I think that’s what you want to smell like when you need to get drunk on cleanliness, comfort, and safety. Luckily, you can still find it in some supermarkets in Spain. The price is accessible, and as others say, the longevity is very good. The trail seems more skin-close to me (but for the sheer pleasure it gives you, it’s fantastic, which is basically what we crave sometimes when we admire the evocative power of this art). Please, let it never disappear. Oh, and for the love of God, it doesn’t remind me at all of Gabrielle Chanel, as the panel above suggested.

  • Antonio Puig’s Fleur de Jour is a stunning white floral where a spiced neroli dominates the scene. It shares much of the DNA with Cacharel’s Anaïs, but unlike that one, it lacks the amber note that was trendy back then but didn’t hold up. It’s a fragrance very worthy of Puig given its ridiculously low price compared to other brands. I’d classify it more as a moss floral; for anyone looking for that woody note, it’s a perfect fit.
