It’s a blend of iris, lavender, and wood, very much in the Francesca Bianchi style. The longevity is eternal, as with her entire line, and it has a scent with a lot of personality. I love it and I think there isn’t a single perfume of hers I don’t like.
It’s a blend of iris, lavender, and wood, very much in the Francesca Bianchi style. The longevity is eternal, as with her entire line, and it has a scent with a lot of personality. I absolutely love it and I think there isn’t a single fragrance of hers I don’t like.
FB usually generates love-hate reactions due to the audacity of her creations; in my case, I expected more from this fragrance since she herself raised the bar. But being objective, it’s a high-quality, well-executed scent with some versatility that doesn’t turn out to be a beast, perhaps never her intention. I detect three phases: an opening of creamy, almost buttery iris with citrus and fruity notes. Over time, the iris softens and after half an hour the woods appear, like cedar and a dark oud, something smoky but timid; although it adds robustness, it seems to ask permission to enter. It’s not challenging or untamable. Maybe I was hoping for a ‘The Lover’s Tale’ in an oud version, with an iris less dominant and more conciliatory, like the Interlude Black Iris flanker that tries to tame the blue beast… I’ll keep waiting.
