FB usually generates love-hate reactions due to the boldness of its creations; in my case, I expected more from this fragrance since it raised the bar itself. But being objective, it’s a high-quality, well-crafted scent with some versatility that isn’t a beast, perhaps never intended to be. I detect three phases: an opening of creamy, almost buttery iris with citrus and fruity notes. Over time, the iris softens, and after half an hour, the woods emerge—cedar and a dark, slightly smoky oud that seems timid despite adding robustness; it feels like it’s asking permission to enter. It’s not challenging or untamed. Maybe I was hoping for a ‘The Lover’s Tale’ in an oud version, with a less dominant iris and a more conciliatory vibe, like the Interlude Black Iris flanker trying to tame the blue beast… I’ll keep waiting.

It’s a blend of iris, lavender, and wood, very much in the Francesca Bianchi style. The longevity is eternal, as with her entire line, and it has a scent with a lot of personality. I absolutely love it and I think there isn’t a single fragrance of hers I don’t like.
