I received a sample set from ELDO, and this is the one I liked the least. It’s just another fresh, summery cologne, like hundreds of similar ones from every brand. Fresh, citrusy, and wearable for summer and daily life, but without any originality. I’ll never pay what they ask. The second worst in the set was Je Suis un Homme, followed by Attaquer le Soleil. The best are Fin du Mundo (exquisite sweetness), Experimentum Crucis, Jasmine & Cigarette, Like This, Putain des Oalaces, Rien, Spice Must Flow, You or Someone Like You, and 500 Years. The rest are just average for me: Yes I Do, Une Amourette, She Was Anomaly, Remarkable People, Noel au Balcón, Les Fleurs du Déchet, Fatty Electricien, and Dangerous Complexity. Scent: 6, Longevity: 5, Projection: 6, Value: 3, Versatility: 10, Originality: 4, Overall: 5.
Refreshing colognes have two faces: one soapy, watery, and sparkling; the other citrusy with floral or powdery touches, like baby scents. Nenuco is the first (lemon and water); Petits de Bvlgari or Tous’s baby line are the second (fresh powder). Etat libre d’orange balances both: it starts citrusy and fresh before transitioning to a pale floral freshness. Whether you prefer a bright or matte finish, you choose; if you like both, this is the option.
A rare cologne: a mix of citrus (obviously), floral, and a powdery leather base. What sets it apart is that it lasts moderately and is ideal for spring and summer.
It’s a classic cologne with a very natural citrus and herbal opening, but the leather base gives it a modern twist. The major flaw is the longevity: it barely lasts two hours on skin or clothes and projects weakly at first, even when applied generously. ELDO usually doesn’t fail on duration; here, it’s a joke. Better go for 4711, which is almost as good for a fraction of the price and lasts longer (though still not much). Álvarez Gómez’s Concentrated Water is superior to this invention. What a pity; I don’t recommend it.
