I found it too metallic and artificial; in the end, I used it as a room spray.
At first, you get the bergamot, then by the hour the rose comes out, with patchouli way in the background. Once it dries down, it becomes an ordinary, everyday perfume. I own other Ciel fragrances that are superior; I bought this with different expectations. It doesn’t smell bad, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Since it launched in 2016/17, I remember it being more potent; when I tried it in 2022, I noticed a fresh, citrusy opening with a bitter touch, but it quickly settled into that rose, patchouli, and moss combo that really makes a statement. It’s a floral chypre where the woody notes are very subtle, with warm hints of coal. It feels elegant, a bit like Miss Dior 2012 or Coco Mademoiselle but lighter, without that heavy woody base. For drydown, it would be perfect for a formal event or party if you’re looking for something budget-friendly.
