Challenge by Lacoste Fragrances

Citrusy and woody, one of the ones I loved most and that brings me memories overflowing. Citrus opening, then as it dries it becomes sweet without losing the citrus touch. Masculine, liked by men and women. Projection is medium, leaning weak, lasts about an hour, then close to the skin for maybe 4 hours. To be an EDT, it doesn’t reach 6 hours like most. I love this fragrance; I used it all the time, partly because I didn’t have much money and only had a couple of perfumes. Mainly for the day, but also at night and it was appreciated. At least in Argentina it’s not available; I never could restock it. I remember it was very accessible (I bought it with my part-time paycheck), so the cost/performance ratio doesn’t look that bad.

The scent is nice, I liked it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long and is a bit subtle. Since it’s not very expensive, you can reapply it several times throughout the day.

Just finished a bottle and I would definitely buy it again. It has a sexy powdery aroma, the kind that revives you on a exhausting hot day. Maybe it doesn’t last the best, but if you reapply and give several sprays to your clothes and neck, you’ll surely steal some sighs. Many people asked me what I was wearing, especially in summer where it shows its splendor.

I really like how it blends citrus and woody tones; it smells much more citrusy at first, then becomes quite sweet an hour later. It smells truly very masculine, a bit sporty, and would fit someone under thirty. Unfortunately, the longevity is relatively okay, but the trail is very weak; an hour later it’s almost skin-scent only. Still, a very good fragrance.

One of my favorite scents; it’s exquisite but has flaws… Projection and longevity are short. It could be one of the best citrus fragrances due to its smell, but it fails on projection. Recommended for hot days, enclosed spaces, or meetings.

I accepted the Challenge in 2012: a bright, citrusy opening with a very prominent lemon note (a bit synthetic) and fresh, almost no sweetness, more acidic and intense. Within seconds, lavender emerges mixed with ginger and violet leaves, which I don’t fully enjoy, since the lemon and bergamot still dominate, making the cocktail hard to digest, especially as the woody notes kick in. As it dries down and settles on the skin, it becomes intensely alkaline, almost with an amber touch, and that blend of scents just didn’t work for me; I feel it lacks a defined character and is tough to wear. For me, I also didn’t like the trail on clothes, which smelled like an old fragrance, like a sun-dried detergent you notice days later. Definitely not one of Lacoste’s best (I’m happy with Essential, Red, or the original); it’s supposed to be sporty, but it doesn’t seem pleasant for working out despite the strong citrus. Better suited for daytime in hot climates, from casual to office wear, and I think it will appeal to young people aged 18 to 30. The longevity isn’t great; it lasts better on clothes than skin. Spray rating: 4 to 6. Longevity: 7.5. Sillage: Medium. Intensity: Medium.

It’s a citrus scent (especially at first), fresh and not very sweet (throughout the entire wear), and particularly, it smells very little like soap. It doesn’t stand out much; although it has originality, it doesn’t feel attractive or captivating, but most people like it. In other words, it’s agreeable but could go unnoticed, so I don’t recommend buying it blindly unless you absolutely love fresh aromas. Overall, it’s versatile, but I prefer it for daytime, even for workouts, and it works well in informal situations. It doesn’t target a specific age range; it looks good on both young people and adults. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the best longevity or projection, although the price isn’t high, though it could be cheaper given its moderate longevity and sillage. Versatility = 8. Longevity = 7. Projection = 7. Price = 8. Overall Rating = 7.5.

Another letdown from Lacoste. The citrus opening is fine, but the dry-down is an eternity, bland, and synthetic. There’s nothing else to say, I just don’t feel like it. The performance is laughable.

One of my favorites, it stays in the bottle a long time, and I only use it when it’s truly worth it.

Smells good, but it’s not one of the best. Another downside: it doesn’t last long; it’s more for personal enjoyment.
