About Cathedral Air
Cathedral Air: Cool Stone and Clear Incense
Cathedral Air from House of 1123, launched in 2026, is a woody oriental made for women and men. It was composed by perfumer Kenny A. Nolasco.
The concept is the air inside a cathedral — high, still, and cool against stone. Resin, wood, and mineral notes keep it solemn yet breathable.
The opening pairs juniper berries with elemi, aldehydes, and black pepper. It feels brisk and aromatic, with peppery lift and a pale resinous edge that clears space right away.
The heart centers on olibanum incense, myrrh, and incense, backed by mineral notes. The balsamic resins stay smooth and restrained, cooled by that stony, almost airy impression.
The drydown blends cedar and vetiver with white musk, ambroxan, and amber. Dry wood and earthy vetiver settle into a clean amber-musk glow that stretches the stone-like calm.
Across the wear, ambery, woody, aromatic, fresh-spicy and warm-spicy facets meet musky, balsamic, mineral, and aldehydic touches. Nothing turns sweet or heavy; clarity leads.
This is a restrained woody oriental, more contemplative than rich. It wears close-to-calm with a tidy trail of pale incense, dry wood, and amber.
It will suit anyone who likes incense and myrrh without sweetness, and fans of dry, mineral woods in a minimalist frame. A unisex pick for quiet focus and clean presence.
Cathedral Air nails solemn without shadow. Nolasco balances resin, wood, and air into a modern woody oriental that feels composed, wearable, and calm.
