Bosque by Paula Cahen D'Anvers: A Forest of Fragrant Light

Bosque, the creation of perfumer Paula Cahen D'Anvers, is a fragrance that invites you to slow down and breathe deeply. It's a unisex scent that captures the essence of a serene forest clearing, focusing on the interplay of light and shadow, freshness and warmth. This is a perfume for those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity.

The opening of Bosque is a vibrant and juicy burst of grapefruit. Its characteristic bitterness is immediately invigorating, cutting through the air like a ray of sunshine. This is complemented by the zesty, slightly sweet aroma of citron, which adds a sparkling and effervescent quality to the top notes, setting the stage for a truly refreshing experience.

As the citrus begins to settle, the heart of the fragrance blooms with a lush and intoxicating jasmine. This isn't a shy, shrinking-violet jasmine; it's a full-bodied, indolic flower that commands attention. Its white, waxy petals unfurl on the skin, releasing a scent that is both elegant and incredibly sensual, providing a beautiful contrast to the crisp opening.

The base of the fragrance is where it finds its grounding. A soft and warm amber creates a smooth, resinous foundation that lingers on the skin. This amber note is not heavy or cloying; instead, it's powdery and comforting, like a favorite cashmere sweater. It provides a beautiful, sweet trail that is both intimate and long-lasting.

The composition is built on a series of contrasting yet complementary accords. The initial citrus sparkle gives way to a rich white floral heart, all resting on a sweet, ambery base with a subtle hint of spice. It's a masterclass in balance, creating a scent that feels both clean and sophisticated, simple yet surprisingly complex.

This is a scent that feels less like a perfume and more like a personal aura. It doesn't shout for attention but rather draws people in with its understated elegance. It's a versatile and easy-to-wear fragrance, perfect for creating a signature scent that is both memorable and universally appealing.

Bosque is for the modern individual who values natural elegance and clean, refined scents. It's perfect for someone looking for a unisex fragrance that's versatile enough for daily wear, whether heading to the office or enjoying a weekend brunch. It's a great choice for those who love fresh, floral, and slightly sweet aromas.

Bosque is a beautiful and understated fragrance that proves less is often more. The blend of grapefruit, jasmine, and amber is both simple and deeply satisfying, creating a clean and elegant scent. It's a beautiful choice for anyone seeking a high-quality, everyday fragrance that feels personal and refined.

  1. Bosque is the complement to Sueños that I use in summer. Every time I smell it, it reminds me of those days, there it is on my dresser waiting for the arrival of summer days. Delicately citrusy, fresh, super wearable and extremely pleasant. I consider it for family use, this fragrance has no age. Perhaps it is more fleeting on my skin than Sueños in duration, but that crystalline sensation is worth it, especially in hot weather.
