Bosphorus Brings Cool Citrus Over Woody Musk

Royal Platinum launched Bosphorus in 2023 as a woody aquatic fragrance for women and men. Perfumer Semih Said Kodal built it around a bright, calm idea of the sea.

It opens with bergamot and lime-type lemon, then moves into seaweed, calone and Hedione, before settling on musk, ambroxan and cedar.

The opening is crisp and uplifting. Bergamot gives green sparkle while the sharp lemon note adds clean, watery brightness, like fresh air above moving water.

The heart turns fully marine. Seaweed brings a salty green edge, calone strengthens the wet oceanic impression, and Hedione keeps things sheer with a light floral glow.

The drydown adds structure and softness. Cedar provides a dry, tidy wood frame, musk brings a powdery smooth layer, and ambroxan adds mineral amber warmth.

Across the wear, citrusy, fresh, marine and aquatic accords sit over a woody, musky and lightly aromatic base, with soft floral and amber touches rounding the edges.

Worn as a unisex scent, it stays neutral rather than sweet or sharp. It reads as a daytime, easygoing option for anyone who likes a clear-cut modern woody aquatic.

A good match for people who like fresh citrus-marine scents grounded in clean wood. It suits fans of sheer unisex wear for daily use.

Bosphorus is a streamlined take on the woody aquatic theme: citrus up top, transparent marine heart, musk-ambroxan-cedar base. A balanced 2023 creation by Semih Said Kodal for Royal Platinum.
