Caught me off guard; it’s original and quirky, but I can’t give it top marks for performance. While the scent is distinct, the dry down doesn’t fully convince me. To me, it’s a sweet, spiced rose with prominent anise and licorice, and the patchouli is nearly absent. It feels light yet strange (I’ll admit, anise and licorice aren’t my favorites). In the dry down, I detect something that smells like an open tuna can—I know it’s odd, but that’s what keeps me from loving it. However, lovers of medicinal and spicy scents will adore it; the quality is high. From a distance or chilled, the first thing I notice is the licorice. Performance is moderate, longevity is decent, but projection is soft from the start. Perfect for daily wear in heat, perhaps spring or summer evenings when you don’t want to draw attention.
