  The third chapter of Kilian’s “L’Ouvre Noire,” “Beyond Love: Prohibited,” aims for that realistic, intense love after the daydreaming. But for my nose, which isn’t very fond of tropical notes, that coconut is almost intoxicating and the tuberose is quite demanding. I gave it a try because of the creator, but the result is a tough companion: a warm, dense, almost milky perfume that, in my case, makes love impossible. It’s ideal for coconut lovers who want an invasive trail that arrives early and stays long.

  “Beyond Love: Prohibited” is the third chapter of Kilian’s “L’Ouvre Noire” collection. When fantasy fades and more realistic, less sweet but intense feelings remain. I imagine he tried to capture that romantic state, but its second name is what I feel on my skin: the potent coconut is almost intoxicating, impossible to handle for a nose that can’t stand tropical scents. I tried it because of the creator, but this invasive coconut mixed with an assertive tuberose makes for a very difficult companion. For me, love here is impossible. It’s a very warm and dense perfume, almost milky, ideal only for coconut lovers who want an invasive trail that hits hard and lingers.

  On my skin, neroli dominates and a very unpleasant amber-coco mix that smells more like a sophisticated salon air freshener than a personal perfume. Beyond love, this scent evokes a place, with nothing of romance, warmth, or attraction.

  On my skin, the neroli dominates, but that amber-coco blend smells more like a luxury salon air freshener than a personal perfume. It gives the impression that the setting is the protagonist, not the romance. There’s no warmth or love, just a sophisticated and distant vibe.
