Pleasant perfume. Green and spicy opening, very luminous. Features violet leaves, cumin, cedar, and sandalwood. A great start that leads to a middle phase with more balanced earthy, woody notes. It follows the line of Buveur De Vent, but fresher and spicier. What sets it apart is the cumin, which adds a sensual touch without being overwhelming. Good longevity: 8-9 hours with moderate projection for the first three hours, then close to the skin by hour 7. Timeless, not intense or heavy, a great option for interviews: discreet, elegant, and charming. Leans masculine, but it’s unisex. For ages 25 and up. Scent 8.5/10, Sillage 7.5/10, Projection 7/10, Longevity 7.5/10.

Wow! What a beast is Bête Humaine. What a delicious aroma. It starts spectacularly with pristine, green, real violet leaves, giving way to a cumin that provides a masterful counterpoint, making it incredibly sensual. The projection isn’t huge but it’s felt. It’s addictive, and I’m going to discover more perfumes from this house because what I’ve tried has been very good. It has a herbal presence in all its phases, with cumin softened by woods in the base. Totally recommended.

  • This isn’t for interviews or the office. If you understand the concept of creation, you know this isn’t a generic: there’s a story, a statement that goes beyond the commercial. Wearing it to the office to compete with colleagues smells like killing the perfume and its art. I say this as a designer: sometimes users turn a craft product into a fashion trend and ruin it. The scent is subjective due to pH, context, and weather: on me, it smells of minty violet, chestnuts, dry resinous woods, moss, and sometimes liquor. The quality is undeniable. It’s dark and dense, but beautiful. Many people have a dark side without losing their beauty. I wear it for walking, thinking, meditating; I leave the city and step into an imaginary forest with wet flowers. It lasts 12 hours on the skin and projects about 6 hours at 1.5 meters.

  • Smells like a softer version of Amouage Fate Man. The scent is good, but it’s too strong on clothes until yesterday; on the skin, not so much.
