  • I ordered the Meo Fusciuni discovery set and, honestly, it was a total surprise. I did my research on the included scents (Buio, Last Season, Viole Nere, Encore du Temps, and Sogni), focusing mainly on Buio, Last Season, and Sogni. The truth is, Buio is a complete work of art. It’s an artistic fragrance, extremely complex and challenging to wear, but don’t worry—it’s far from impossible. While I see it as a highly mature scent (+40) for experienced noses, it’s true you can fall in love with it even if you’re younger. Here’s my experience: I’m 18 and have been into perfumery for about 10-11 months, five months after my first niche fragrance, Cuoium by Orto Parisi. When I was younger, visiting my grandparents’ village (which I only go to once or twice a year now, and it’s practically a ghost town), I had a friend with whom we’d break into abandoned houses, what’s now called “urbex,” when we were around 7-8 years old. The point is, smelling this masterpiece transported me back to those incredible experiences, a scent I hadn’t remembered in years, a unique essence that left me completely thoughtful and addicted to trying it over and over. Now for the objective part: what does it smell like? It smells smoky, very smoky, but not like a forest fire; rather, like a burned church or cathedral—not cheap plywood furniture, but aged, worked, and incense-soaked furniture, a place with history that wants to scream for help but is weakened. The leather it contains isn’t the clean/new leather of Ombre Leather or Noir Kogane; quite the opposite, it’s more like Cuoium: an eternal leather, worn, and in this case, dirty, with ash, treated yet abused. The floral notes are blended to perfection; you can feel them, but they don’t overpower the other notes at all. The best thing I’ve tried recently, 10/10 in every way, I absolutely love it.
