Alto Astral by Byredo is an aldehydic floral fragrance for men and women. This creation, launched in 2025, is signed by perfumer Jérôme Epinette. • What a beautiful perfume, my favorite Byredo so far. It smells like clean air, like a breath of fresh air, with that sweet coconut that is luminous and refreshing coconut water. Plus, its longevity is unusually good for this profile. If you like clean-scented perfumes, you’ll love this and it will put you in a good mood.

  • It has that soapy aldehyde vibe and that aquatic coconut touch at first, but with the incense and sandalwood, it becomes creamier and darker. It’s not for cooling down in summer; the base is amber and dense, and it didn’t win me over. I see it as perfect for spring and fall, but it didn’t blow my mind since there are similar scents. In fact, it reminded me of Thank U Next by A. Grande, which is also by Epinette.

  • It’s the premium version of Zara’s Shamanilla, and I’ll be clear: it smells literally like coconut water with citrus, clean, and vanilla touches.

  • It’s a woody, clean, and creamy mix. The coconut water with aldehydes promises freshness and light, but soon the incense and amber warm it up and add complexity. It’s neither dense nor light; it has body and freshness. If I had to pick two notes, they’re coconut and sandalwood. The floral aspect barely shows up on my skin. I was surprised, but I feel the coconut and incense just don’t work for me, so it didn’t convince me to buy it. It’s totally unisex and versatile. The longevity is standard for Byredo. If you like coconut and sandalwood, try it before buying blind.
