Untamed, smells like stable Indian Oud, and it’s linear. Sprays from a distance and use the absolute minimum. I have it, but it’s stored away; I don’t know when I’ll use it again.
If you like Oud with a horse leather scent, this is the one for you. It costs a quarter of other perfumes, watch out for the sprays—they give headaches if you overdo it; two is more than enough. I don’t think this 30 ml elixir for 90 € will last long on the market. The Oud feels natural, not fecal or like manure, but like horse leather.
After a difficult start (or not, it smells like goat cheese), it becomes sweet and seductive. Today I wore it in the sun without holding back. After three hours, every burst smells better… now I feel unique and special. You just have to dare to jump without fear. It’s not for everyone, of course… but who wants to be average?
This is challenging and bold, uffff. It opens with a strong, high-quality Oud, like a barn or stable. It’s heavy for the first 15 or 20 minutes, then softens and other notes appear, though Oud always dominates. It evolves more on skin than on clothes (this is linear); over time, I notice a sweetness reminiscent of B. Afgano, perhaps amber. According to Ajmal, it’s Amber Woody, a unisex launched in 2008 by Nazir Ajmal, resinous and woody. Projection and longevity are beastly. To me, it’s more masculine than unisex. No regrets—it’s a masterpiece in my collection. I love a challenge 😜.
For Indian Oud fans only: starts with a top-quality milky, animalic opening. Once this beast calms down, deep woods emerge. It’s pure Oud, don’t expect more. Dry down is elegant and pleasant. If you’re new to this wood and brand, try Mukhallat Shams first, then Dahn Oud Shams, and finally this beast. I recommend it to lovers of the note, but not to beginners—they’ll be blown away.
