  It seems more woody than leathery to me. The impression is that the leather leans toward the sweet side of a fine jacket leather, mixed with cedar, vetiver, moss, and tonka. Another beautiful fragrance that has brought me closer to appreciating this brand more.

  At first, it smells quite citrusy, reminding me of Commodity’s Moss. It stays this way with close-to-skin sillage for a few hours, then a musky note emerges, likely from the suede. This phase lasts about 3 more hours before the sillage drops to nearly nothing and eventually fades away completely. I considered it a good alternative to Commodity’s Moss for the opening, but I changed my mind. I prefer Moss; even though its sillage is low, it’s stronger than BR’s and lasts much longer. I got it for $33, which isn’t expensive, but the near-zero sillage makes it a poor choice.

In this stage, it lasts about 3 more hours, and the trail drops almost to zero, nearly imperceptible until it disappears. I thought it was a good option to replace Moss for the opening, but no, I prefer the original. Although it lasts longer, Moss has a much greater trail. I got it for $33, a low price, but it’s not worth it for that null trail.

  Great scent, reasonable price, and moderate longevity. Above all, it transports me back to my childhood when my dad used a classic English Leather. That point won me over. In the end, why use perfume if not to remember? Totally recommended, very easy to wear.

  Fifth review of the Banana Republic Icon line, focusing on Leather Reserve. The opening is potent and the drydown is correct; neroli stands out at first, then suede takes over with a touch of vetiver (I think I detect some incense, even though it’s not listed). Moderate trail, about six hours, then it clings more to the skin. It’s not invasive or annoying, I’ve checked. Ideal for the office or casual spring/autumn outings when it’s warm. In Argentina, it’s affordable and you can find it in pharmacies at a good price. It delivers, it’s pleasant, and perfect for the office or informal dates.

Banana House always delivers great options (in fact, it’s one of the best price-to-quality ratios here, and cheaper than some Zara finds outside of sales…). It’s not for everyone; it’s for those who appreciate floral, herbal, and woody leather with vetiver nuances. That combination creates something truly unique and rare in commercial perfumes. It’s sharp yet pleasant and hard to find elsewhere. I’m still testing its performance, though the initial projection is good for the price. It’s versatile and masculine, definitely not for teenagers. Don’t buy it blindly; try a decant first—that’s the smart move. On my skin, it lasts under 6 hours with moderate projection, so you’ll need to apply more.
