Perfumes de Tanaïs

Tanaïs is a person dedicated to authorship and perfumery based in New York City. Her book In Sensorium: Notes For My People won the Kirkus Prize for Nonfiction 2022. This book, which defies genres, offers an alternative and necessary feminist perspective on the history of South Asia, colonization, castes, and the formation of nation-states, through the fascinating lens of the history of aroma and sensuality.

Tanaïs is the author of the critically acclaimed novel Bright Lines, a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Edmund White Debut Fiction Award, and the The Brooklyn Public Library Prize.
