Chai Kulfi by nXn Perfumes is a spicy oriental fragrance for women and men. Released in 2022 and composed by perfumer Nixon Dias, it pairs two Indian favorites: masala chai and kulfi, the slow-reduced milk sweet.
It opens with Assam tea, ginger, star anise and black pepper, then moves through a spiced milky heart toward vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood, amber and oud wood.
The opening feels brewed rather than citrusy. Assam tea brings a tannic, slightly smoky infusion, lifted by fresh ginger and edged with black pepper. Star anise adds soft licorice sweetness that points toward the gourmand turn.
The heart layers classic chai spices in full: saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Cardamom stays bright, cinnamon and clove warm the blend, nutmeg rounds it, and saffron adds a faint leathery depth.
Then the kulfi idea takes over. Condensed milk gives a thick creamy sweetness, almond adds a soft nutty facet, and dried rose brings a muted powdery contrast that keeps the sugar in check.
The base holds that creaminess in place. Vanilla and benzoin extend a balsamic sweetness, sandalwood smooths with its milky wood character, while amber and oud wood add warmth and quiet depth.
