  L’Inizio Pour Homme by Carlo Corinto is the kind of perfume we’d never buy, the last option among designer brands. It ends up on the last shelf, with no reviews, and I’m grateful for that, because it might just be the best. It’s atypical, holding a solid amber and wood accord in something we’d call ‘simple’. The citrus opening is acidic, where dry sandalwood blends with dry woods, smelling like freshly sawn timber. It’s a ‘foresty’ aquatic with great character. Seems made to compete with Cool Water, but this one smells more substantial. I like its foresty DNA with sage; although I usually don’t, it works well here. Excellent performance, medium-high projection. Reminds me of Romance Silver but with better performance. Has nothing to do with vintage Minotaure. Still at a good price, even though it’s no longer sold officially. Not new today, but it was in its time. Its weak point is the sober image, a bias of mine. It has a mineral finish, dense amber, and a saturation of woods that project a strong, aquatic masculine scent from a distance, versatile for any age. A ‘cheapy’ worth it for battle days, to feel clean and very manly. Recommended.

  L’Inizio Pour Homme is a fresh yet rugged amber, thanks to the sage blend with bergamot and lemon. Then, an ambered sandalwood heart settles in, wrapped in vetiver—not too obvious, with a slight acidic touch; an uncommon note that changed my mind. It reminds me of Givenchy’s Pi, maybe due to the vanilla trail. The cedar is very subtle.

  It’s a rare scent: starts with a sharp citrus note that stings, then transitions into amber. It smells very much like Dsquared2 Zino, same vibe.
