“The fascinating power of our sense of smell”
Before even considering fragrances and perfumery, it was the incredible power of the sense of smell that captivated me. Of our five senses, it is the most instinctive and the least used— the one that connects us with buried memories and emotions; it is both captivating and moving. Although I was naturally drawn to the study of arts and literature, my love of aromas led me to attend ISIPCA, the first step in turning a passion into a profession: perfumer.
My curiosity to understand our sense of smell even better is also reflected in my attraction to the unknown. I am always eager to discover new places, explore innovative processes, and experiment with unique raw materials. As an insatiable explorer, I like to be on the move, in constant agitation. This led me, several years ago, to make a solo journey through the south of India in order to connect on a deeper level with new smells and fragrances. My trip was designed around visiting flower plantations, which allowed me to discover unforgettable aromas in their natural surroundings. This impressive journey brought me closer to a culture in which flowers and perfumes matter the most in people’s everyday lives.
At Eurofragance, when I translate one of their briefs into a perfume, I am actually transforming an abstract notion into a concrete creation. But, above all, I aim to bring pleasure to their consumers regardless of the product they use. There are few things in life that can make me smile more than being able to create a fragrance that conveys joy and happiness.
