Born in the French region of Little Provence to a Sicilian mother and a Breton father, both passionate about perfumery and plants, Matthieu has followed in his father’s footsteps since childhood, traveling together around the world in search of aromatics. A chance encounter with a Perfumist revealed a profession that would allow him to express his creativity and put his family heritage at the service of the art of perfumery.
During a summer internship (before joining ISIPCA), Matthieu first met Robertet’s Creation Team. This experience gave him the opportunity to attend the in-house Perfumery School, where he studied with Michel Almairac in Paris and then with Marc Zini in Grasse, learning the art and history of perfumery.
Shortly after his arrival, Matthieu had the opportunity to sign a perfume for the Coronation of King Charles with Grossmith, London and, later, became one of the three finalists of the Perfume Creation Competition for the 60th anniversary of the BSP.
Matthieu currently works as a perfumer with Robertet’s team. In his personal time, he has several artistic hobbies, including: music, photography, video creation, organizing events, and volunteering in projects that lift people’s spirits and challenge the limits of networking and the experiences of individuals.
Matthieu feels honored to become a member of the Council of the British Society of Perfumers and looks forward to contributing to his community for the benefit of its members.
