Anna Rosa Ferrari

Under the artistic name of Anne Rose, Anna Rosa Ferrari lives in Modena and is originally from Carpi, her hometown to which she certainly owes the creative spirit—free and focused on research—that animates and sustains her. Trained through deep and laborious existential/experiential research, she is a craft perfumer and philosopher. For years, she has been creating exclusive natural essences of vegetal origin, born in the heart of the city of Modena at the Piccolo Museo ProfumAlchemico, a short distance from the Duomo. In addition to her work (even if it is difficult to separate work from research), Anna Rosa has spent the last years studying texts, alongside the ideation, realization, and observation of numerous individual and collective multisensory experiences in which her Profumalchemici were used together with other products, with the aim of evoking responses from other senses. In 1990 she established in Modena Artestetica Profumeria, a cultural salon, and in 2011 she founded the Association Perfvmvm Avia Pervia Renaissance Olfactory and Spiritual for the dissemination of Pensiero Profumato. Since then, various initiatives have been organized: from study seasons to multisensory events, from the first Alchemical Festival in Italy—10 September 2011—to the book Le Nature del Profumo, and her participation in Expo Milano. In 2017, Anna Rosa Ferrari graduated with honors in Philosophical Sciences from the prestigious Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, with an experimental thesis on the Profumalchemico "método para conoscere". In the same year, she officially opened in Modena the Piccolo Museo ProfumAlchemico, a new type of sensory museum dedicated to fragrances and the history of perfumery, where rare natural essences and the books that tell their story can also be purchased. She also teaches profumalchemic philosophy (método para conoscere) in the Historical Archives of Carpi. In 2018 she published her second book "La filosofia profumalchemica, fondamenti, storia, essenze" for Artioli Editore. In 2019, she presented at the Museum of Sacred Art in San Giovanni a Fivizzano the olfactory work "Rosa Mater" created for the city of Fivizzano and dedicated to the Most Holy Virgin Mary, a work donated by the City of Fivizzano to the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella. She received a particular recognition by letter from the same Presidency of the Italian Republic, with the greetings of President Mattarella.
