  Undoubtedly, the Z Zegna line is the brand’s most successful avant-garde and masculine series since the launch of the traditional Z Zegna in 2005. It’s clear how they project masculinity: modern, demi-classic, and very Mediterranean. The ozonic lemon leaf note, angelica, and the blend create an acidic green touch that, over time, settles into an acidified woody base, making it stunningly beautiful. Its performance is extraordinary: it lasts 8 hours without issues, and on cool days, I estimate it reaches 12 hours with a generous but controlled application. It’s bold and semi-linear across four seasons: in winter, it stands out against heavy perfumes, while in summer and autumn, it’s spectacular. I’d encourage you to try it; it’s an atypical, citrusy, green fragrance with that final touch perfectly executed and truly avant-garde.

  Z Zegna Energy is fresh, citrusy, and woody—pleasant, but it didn’t impress me too much. At first, it seemed a bit soapy, reminiscent of Ferragamo Cologne or Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, and I enjoyed that clean phase the most. Later, it turned synthetic; I thought it was ISO E Super with cedar notes, but checking the notes again, it might be Hedione. Longevity was good, around 8 hours, with moderate projection, and it feels versatile for almost any season except winter, where I see little potential. It’s pleasant but doesn’t stand out among other fragrances in its style; maybe I was expecting something different, so my enthusiasm is low. Still, it’s a solid option given the performance it offers.

  The opening caught me off guard—a sharp, energetic herbal hit that initially smelled like classic barbershop cologne thanks to those citrus and green notes. But on my skin, the evolution was a different story: the geranium, vetiver, and that persistent green touch transform it into something more sophisticated and calming. It becomes friendly, neat, and understated, with no pretensions. If the opening scared you off, the heart and base notes will enchant you; it has standout longevity that makes it unique and uncommon. I recommend it for 25-year-old men on sunny days, ideal for spring and summer, though it works for intermediate seasons too. Try it before buying: over 8 hours of longevity, moderate projection, and cheaper than the classic Z Zegna.
