  This fragrance is incredibly special and complex. While it recalls the ‘cherries’ mentioned earlier, it’s never identical to any other. Velvet Swan offers something truly distinct. It’s not the bright, red cherry of Lost Cherry or the leather-forward cherry of Black Perfecto; here, there’s a dark cherry (morello, Italian) in a unique blend. The first spray brings something that smells like musk with that cherry, followed just seconds later by a rich, powdery, immaculate, and divine sandalwood. The cashmere is barely noticeable, which I appreciate because in other formulas it dominates too much and I don’t like that effect. The floral side of the ylang-ylang is definitely present and magnificent on my skin. The caramel doesn’t over-sweeten, and the almond milk is beautifully diffused; it doesn’t smell like rancid nuts or overly lactonic like the Italica by Xerjoff, which never fully won me over. It’s potent, long-lasting, and perfect for evening wear. An ultra-sensual fragrance I’d use all year round, especially in cooler seasons.
