I thought this extract was identical to the original Tahitian Vanilla, but it’s clear they’re two different worlds. What surprises me most is that the opening smells much more floral, nothing like the original’s start. However, as it dries down, it recovers that same vanilla DNA. This extract’s opening is less repulsive than the original’s. In terms of longevity and projection, this is muuuuch superior, and the price difference is brutal: 285€ for the extract versus 160€ for the original. Still, I recommend the extract because the other doesn’t last five minutes. My boyfriend and my mom say it smells like cat pee, but I don’t get it, even though it’s two against one.
It smells more floral than the Eau de Parfum, yes, giving it an extra fresh touch, but the DNA is identical. The composition is the same: hyper-realistic vanilla that smells like an orchid, nothing like pastry vanilla. If you like the Eau de Parfum, you’ll love this too. Is it worth paying the difference? In my opinion, no. The Eau de Parfum lasts just enough, about 4-5 hours, and I wish it lasted longer, but paying 285 euros for this extract… no way. I reapply the Eau de Parfum and I’m happy.
