I tried the original version before, and it really hit me hard: it smelled like cloves and was way too strong, so I gave it to someone else. Maybe I was just too young for that scent. Now I’ve tried the new formula, and even though it smells different, I absolutely love it. It’s wonderful and has nothing to do with the old one.

Elegance level: on par with YSL’s Cinema. Pure magic, like Spellbound. I compare it to Cinema by imagining two middle-aged, upper-class, well-educated women tackling serious matters in a demanding professional setting. Each with their own magnetic personality. They’re great companions, elegant and cultured. The one in Cinema wears yellow gold jewelry and a white blouse; Spellbound sports a tight black evening gown with minimal white gold accessories. Spellbound rules over Cinema. Spellbound isn’t as vain, but she comes from a more powerful background. Plus, it’s a great perfume: elegant and powerful. Few know about it, so I recommend trying it. It’s not for kids; it’s a woman’s perfume. I adore it with my whole soul. It’s not versatile—it’s formal, for night or special occasions.
