Interesting perfume, but not at the price it’s sold for. Its performance is terribly poor for what you pay. I perceive it as spicy and smoky, even though nothing like that appears in the notes. The opening is a bit abrupt before it sweetens, revealing a touch of animalic character. It doesn’t seem surprising or stand out much in the niche context.
At first, animal and violet notes dominate, with cocoa present but the ambergris muted. As a fan of this note, I expected more; it’s very animalic and cocoa-forward, reminiscent of Montecristo by Masque Milano and Guerlain’s quality. However, it smells weak and projects poorly, with the ambergris acting as a dusty base more akin to Magnetic blend. There’s plenty of iris and cocoa, but it fails to create something unique. Compared to Montecristo, the animalic aspect matches, but that salty, earthy ambergris seems real, even if the buttery iris and cocoa can’t elevate it. It’s a collection of notes I like individually that don’t work together: an earthy base boosted with cocoa and animal notes. Not for everyone, but the disappointment is huge. It doesn’t justify its ridiculous price of €329 for 35ml. Scent: 5.8, Projection: 4.5, Longevity: 6.8, Originality: 5.5. Recommended: Never.
