Descripción
Rossopompeiano by Agatho Parfum is a musky floral woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by perfumer Maurizio Cerizza. The top notes unfold bitter almond, galbanum, and yellow mandarin; the heart reveals heliotrope, ylang-ylang, orange blossom, Damask rose, and sambac jasmine; while the base settles on vanilla, labdanum, patchouli, sandalwood, white amber, cashmere wood, and musk.

Perfectly executed and balanced. Rosso Pompeiano is the example of how an almond fragrance should be: white, clean, elegant, with a gourmand woody touch—sweet, fresh, and powdery. Of the entire Agatho collection, it’s the most feminine; if you’re a man without a complex, you can wear it without issues, especially leaning into the woody side. In short: it’s a well-made gourmand almond scent with floral touches of Ylang Ylang, vanilla, and sandalwood. For those who know Pegasus by PDM, this is many rungs above. It’s a perfect signature scent, no-brainer, ideal for the office and timeless. A great option that women will absolutely love.
Bought it blind following YouTubers and it arrived yesterday. Don’t take this seriously; it’s just my first impression. Don’t expect something refined or delicate. The star isn’t the almond (there are better options for that, like Tom Ford or Mancera); it’s the Ylang Ylang, which is constantly irritating my teeth. I mention this because I own the Perris Montecarlo and I know it’s that same dense, hard-to-find ingredient. To me, it smells like a different era—not Pompeii, but what an older person would wear or things associated with them. The bitter almond is just an anecdotal detail, and you have to hunt for the rose. Longevity and projection: 10/10; I wore it yesterday at 7 PM, and at 8:30 PM, I could still smell it on my hands (I’ve washed them multiple times, lol), though it’s not a beast. Maybe my disconnect is due to expectations; I’ve smelled fragrances from V Canto or Tiziana Terenzi that are much finer in texture, and this isn’t. I don’t see the value for the price; I don’t feel pampered, and the floral notes aren’t distinct. I’ll keep testing it to see if my opinion changes.
The almond and mandarin are a 10—exquisite—but that animalic base kills it for me. If you’re looking for something clean, forget this one. I have a cat, and while I love animals, that scent of dry urine on clothes is a hard no for me (if you have a feline, you know what I mean).
Tested it on a decant and I was hyped, but the reality is a whole different story: it smells incredibly strong, I don’t like it at all, and it doesn’t even leave a trail. Basically, luxury price point with quality that doesn’t match up.
