Maybe one of the most exquisite scents I’ve ever smelled, but I don’t love it because of its longevity—it’s shorter than a normal body mist. Why, Rituals? So frustrating, because aside from that, it has everything I’m looking for: sweet without being cloying, fruity, elegant, versatile, suitable for any season and age. It’s different from anything in a regular perfumery and feels completely natural. It’s a work of art and a true olfactory pleasure. But Rituals didn’t want to make the perfect perfume and gave it poor longevity. If it were cheap, I’d forgive it and reapply, but at this price… Rituals, if you’re reading this, improve the longevity. Why create celestial scents if they don’t last at all?

I absolutely love this perfume; I bought a small bottle in 2019 and repurchased the large size this year. The scent is wonderful, but it barely lasts… what a shame. Still, I enjoy wearing it.

I adore this perfume; I bought a small bottle in 2019 and bought a large one this year. The scent is wonderful, but it barely lasts… what a pity, but I still like to wear it.

I tried it fresh out of the bottle and really liked it. It reminded me of hair lacquer smell 😆. I agree that Rituals perfumes last almost nothing and have barely any projection. What a pity.

  • It’s a sweet fruity scent that, to my nose, doesn’t follow the Black Opium line despite sharing base notes. After an anise opening, it’s dominated by dusty blackcurrant with a touch of lily-of-the-valley root. It lacks the punchy sweetness and citrus of Black Opium, but they do share vanilla, almond, and lots of tonka. Soft sillage and about 5 hours of longevity on skin. It’s not long-lasting or very elegant; I use it in autumn/winter for short outings. Scent 6/10, Longevity 5/10, Sillage 5.5/10, Value (discontinued) 5/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy it again? No.

It smells like a wet and dirty dog—that metallic post-rain odor from a crazy clash between grenadine and sweet almonds (reminds me of L’Occitane) with oxidized tonka. It brings to mind animal urine and poorly cared-for shearling coats; it’s unpleasant, harsh, and violent enough to seem like a prank. It makes you think of dirty or abominable things.
