I tried it because I already own the vintage EDP with the stopper and had never seen the EDT. This one is less aldehydic, but something made me prefer it a thousand times over the EDP. It comes out woodier and a touch sweeter. The projection is good, just not as intense as the EDP. This has a linear evolution, whereas the EDP has a super interesting development. If you like the heart notes of the EDP, this could be a great alternative. But if you’re looking for moss and complex evolutions that change with your skin and the weather, the EDP remains the king.
My mom wears this and my grandma wears the EDP. No need to say it’s a classic. Maybe it’s not expensive, but it has class and presence. The image my family projects with these fragrances is of women who are decisive, responsible, and have their lives together.
Just arrived and I bought it for two reasons: it’s a major icon for my older sister, and I love its ambery, musky pyramid. The gold bottle with the crystal drop is stunning. It has that vintage 80s vibe, but it’s not bad; it breaks the monotony of today’s overly sweet perfumes. Smells like noble oakmoss—light, not heavy—paired with bubbly aldehydes that add elegance and good vibes. Then comes the hyacinth and creamy mimosa, with the rose barely present. It’s a floral ensemble bathed in aldehydes and moss. Super wearable in any weather (just two sprays in summer) and feels like a trip back in time without smelling like an old closet. A gem for the nose, though I won’t be repurchasing.
Snagged this at a great price this year, though I regret not grabbing the gold cap version in 2019 at that airport store with the buy-one-get-one deal. The black bottle is the current one—it’s more transparent and less aldehydic than the old version. It’s woodier and easier to wear daily without being as aggressive or ‘imposing’ as the EDP. It doesn’t last as long, but it’s more versatile, leaning a bit toward Magie Noire, and I absolutely loved the purchase.
