  Quite different from the conventional for a neroli (or at least what’s called that). From the start and for a good while, a juicy mango stands out, adding freshness and sweetness, a note shared with Timbuktu but much more present here. That freshness joins the sparkling pink pepper, nothing gourmand or reminiscent of stews like black or white. Although the freshness fades, the spicy note becomes predominant since it stays constant. The neroli isn’t very creamy, indolic, or mentholated; it’s balanced and intermingled with the other notes, so I think even men with prejudices could try it without issues. It lasts quite well.

  A balsamic, fruity tuberose that, if you don’t really sniff it, might seem funny. But if you keep coming back to it, it gets maddening and artificial. I like the blend of neroli, angelica, and wood; the herbal, bitter note of the plant gives a lovely vegetal, earthy touch, but the mango, that unexpected heavy guest, ruins everything with its slimy acidity. This happens with this perfume and other ‘author’ scents: they’re different, they break the mold, but they don’t smell like perfume, they smell more plastic. There are exceptions in the niche, balanced and excellent works, but this isn’t one of them. It smells like an air freshener, like Mikado.
