Meydan by The Spirit of Dubai is an unisex fragrance from the olfactory family. Launched in 2015, this composition features top notes of saffron, lavender, cypress, styrax, cardamom, nutmeg, bergamot, hyssop, cinnamon, grapefruit, and apple. The heart unfolds with oud wood, tobacco, cedar, geranium, cypress, cashmere, lily of the valley, labdanum, jasmine, and floral notes. Watch out for Meydan, a luxury leather that isn’t as beastly as they say, especially since I’ve worn many leathers on my back. It’s powerful, masculine, and very well-made—pleasant but without an animal smell, more virile and fresh, a perfect example of rough-refined. The only thing holding me back is the price. Compared to postmodern ‘Nomad Leathers’ that smell like tomato or a thousand things and nothing like leather, Meydan says: ‘look at this, man.’ This is real leather, majestic, one of the best I’ve heard. I didn’t know the brand, but both this and the oud are incredible.
The Dubai Meydan by The Spirit of Dubai is a 2015 unisex by Asghar Adam Ali. Inspired by the majesty of Arab horses and the luxury of racing, it offers a rich and complex experience, perfect for those seeking something distinctive and sophisticated. It’s incredible how that mix of notes creates such a vivid scent, full of memories, with a projection that, at times, smells straight up like money.
I was expecting the typical OL leather and got a pleasant surprise; nothing usual here. The opening is logical, with a green and spicy tone giving it a wild, natural vibe, which surprised me. As time passes, the leather remains noticeable, oscillating between rough and suede, very elegant and expressive. In the heart, that green and spicy point warms up thanks to sandalwood, adding comfort without being creamy. At the end, there’s a back-and-forth where suede leather prevails and the green has already faded. One of the most interesting leathers I’ve tried; it has conquered me. Ideal for cold days or nights, shines at night, in formal situations, or for nuclear performance. Very, very good.
