I visited the US and walked into a perfume shop that rarely runs sales, but they were having one that day, so I took the chance. Since they don’t allow many testers, I stumbled upon this gem and bought it blind based on English reviews. We all know this house’s colored fragrances are popular, but their quality, sillage, and longevity leave much to be desired, so serious fragrance collectors will likely skip them. For gourmand lovers, however, it’s an excellent choice: the opening is creamy with a slight boozy note, and sniffing it instantly changes your demeanor. It then evolves into a subtle touch of vanilla, chocolate, and dulce de leche, giving off a refined, sophisticated, and elegant vibe. It lives up to its name, ‘Elegance’; I’ve worn it to formal events and received countless compliments. It’s sweet, soft, warm, creamy, and leaves an exquisite trail. Naturally seductive. The bottle exudes class and finesse; the liquid is amber/golden like a fine wine, with the brand name etched at the bottom. On the back, it’s chrome-plated with no names to keep the image clean, featuring only the crocodile on the cap. On me, it evokes a polished, integrated, and holistic personality: not the flashy but empty man, but the confident one with sound thinking, a philosopher, a sage, and a sensitive soul capable of demystifying life’s mysteries.

Nothing beats the thrill of finding a great perfume. Lacoste Elegance is as unique as its oriental fougère family. At first, it smells of leather, chocolate, and intense, almost boozy spices, perhaps due to the citrus notes. Unlike the discontinued Pour Homme, which I avoid due to poor projection, this one is sharp and impactful. Its dark, gourmand scent—sweet leather and bitter chocolate—lives up to its name: elegant. Imagine a suede jacket with chocolate and spices. It lasts over 10 hours. Ideal for night when summer ends, developing all day in autumn and winter. Very versatile. Recommended, but test first.
