Man, this is hard to digest. The wood hit is brutal—dry and with a bitter edge. Where’s the rose? For me, it’s hidden until an hour or two pass. It’s an aroma that needs its time… I’m not sure if it’s the oud or the wood I’m smelling, but there’s something indefinable about it that reminds me of L’Air du Desert Marocain: dry, strong, and deep. It starts off killing with wood and a medicinal touch, like some ouds, then softens with the rose. It didn’t grab me on the first wear, but the second one I liked more, and the third… I’ll review it again in a month with more conclusions.
Honestly, it’s hard to digest. I get a brutal, dry, slightly bitter wood note. Where’s the rose? For me, it’s hidden until a couple of hours pass. It’s a scent that needs its time. I’m not sure if it’s the oud or the wood I’m detecting, but it has something indefinable: it reminds me of L’Air du Desert Marocain for that dry, strong, and deep character. It starts with a hard, almost medicinal hit like some ouds, then softens until the rose finally blooms. It didn’t hook me on the first use, but the second I liked it more, and the third… I’ll review it again in a month with more conclusions.
On my skin, it stays almost entirely as a soapy rose throughout its evolution; I don’t recognize pure oud, so I don’t notice it. I do perceive something spicy and peppery, with the amber adding a clean touch and the sandalwood bringing soft woods. Although I initially thought it was more feminine, it didn’t bother me and gives me that floral, clean vibe—slightly synthetic but correct. It has great longevity and considerable sillage without being intrusive. For under €10, it’s a good buy if you like rose. I’d rate it 6/10.
On my skin, it’s soapy rose almost all day; I don’t detect the pure oud, so I can’t distinguish it. I do notice some spice and heat, the amber gives it a clean touch, and the sandalwood adds soft woods. At first, it seemed more feminine, but I felt comfortable in it. It conveys a floral cleanliness that’s slightly synthetic, though correct. It lasts long and leaves a trail without being intrusive. For under €10, it’s a good buy if you like rose. I’d give it a 6/10.
It starts with an intense, very natural rose that doesn’t overdo it, alongside a medicinal touch at first that quickly yields to aromatic woods. The rose lingers throughout, while the amber and sandalwood rise early and last about 3–4 hours; afterward, a clean trail of rose, amber, and musk clings to the skin. On clothes, it leaves a clean, soft, soapy trail with a pink base. I don’t know the real oud, so at this price, I assume it’s synthetic, but if it resembles true wood, I love it. Overall, it’s a very pleasant, discreet, and warm fragrance, perfect for winter and ideal for rose lovers. I’m not a huge rose fan, yet I like this one because it smells so natural. The bottle design also earns it points.
It opens with an intense, very natural rose that isn’t overpowering, paired with a slightly medicinal touch that quickly yields to aromatic woods. The rose lasts the whole time; amber and sandalwood rise fast and maintain that phase for about 3-4 hours, leaving a trail clinging to the skin of rose, amber, and musk. On clothes, it leaves a clean, soft, soapy trail with a pink base. I don’t know much about oud and assume that at this price (€10.90) it’s synthetic, but if it resembles that first wood note, I love it. Overall, it’s a very pleasant, discreet, and warm fragrance. Perfect for winter; ideal for those who adore rose. I’m not a huge rose fan, yet I like this one because it feels so natural. The bottle design is also a plus.
Winter in old Córdoba was freezing, but in the salon, sheltered by the fire and thick wool curtains, my mother told me stories she’d heard from her grandmother: princesses captive to dragons and exotic birds singing in strange tongues. Her skin radiated a floral and woody scent that plunged me into sweet dreams. Rasasi’s KHALTAT AL OUD takes the rose and oud combination to the highest level: a deep, warm rose like my mother’s voice recounting those wonders, paired with a subtle oud that doesn’t steal the spotlight. Sometimes, the musk adds bright flashes that contrast with that Cairo purple rose. In the end, the rose and oud give way to echoes of sandalwood and cedar, leaving a long, balsamic, and soothing trail. If you overapply or aren’t a fan of strong oriental scents, it can be intrusive. It’s unisex, though it leans more feminine. Scent: rose and woods / Sillage: high / Longevity: high / Value: unbeatable / Use: winter, night, for oriental lovers.
Winter in Cordoba a thousand years ago was glacial. Inside the salon, shielded by fire and thick wool curtains, my mother told me stories she’d heard from her grandmother: princesses captive to dragons and exotic birds that foretold destiny. From her skin emanated a floral and woody scent that plunged me into sweet dreams. KHALTAT AL OUD by RASASI is where rose and oud reach their full potential. It’s a deep, warm rose, like my mother’s voice narrating those legends. The oud accompanies the rose like a discreet lover who doesn’t steal the spotlight. Sometimes the musk adds highlights that contrast with that purple rose of Cairo. Over time, the rose and oud give way to echoes of sandalwood and cedar, offering a long, balsamic, and soothing dry-down. Projection and longevity can be intrusive if overapplied or if you’re not a fan of Dubai-style oriental scents. It’s unisex but leans more feminine. SCENT: rose and woods / TRAIL: strong / LONGEVITY: strong / PERFORMANCE: high / VALUE: unbeatable / USE: winter, night, for lovers of the East.
