  Short longevity and projection, but fair warning: this is for a very specific audience. Grafton reminds me of YSL’s Jazz (which I still can’t forgive for being discontinued) because it shares lavender, cilantro, basil, and perhaps rosemary at the top; geranium, rose, and other florals in the middle (with pepper and caraway), and a base of wood, leather, and that tobacco substitute that doesn’t actually smell like tobacco. Everything is pleasant and contained. In Jazz, everything was polished; here, the vibe is more of a barbershop cologne. It’s a post-shave product to give freshness and pleasure to the gentleman, just like Nivea, Floid, or Proraso aftershaves, but in liquid form rather than cream. The price difference is notable: it seems aimed at a wealthy Englishman who isn’t fazed by spending 60 pounds for a few minutes of masculine pleasure. Is it worth it? The scent is rich and pleasurable, but I don’t think the price is justified as a barbershop cologne. It lasts longer on clothes, but I still don’t see the expense as justified. Rich scent at a high price with low performance.
