Smells like benzoin and roses, too much benzoin and roses… It’s not for seduction as Rossy de Palma says, it smells more like ointment and medicine. I let it macerate and now it has a soft talc-like drydown with lots of rose… it’s the weirdest perfume I own!
A rose so strong and aggressive it borders on gasoline. Terrifying; I’ve heard very few things like this in florals. The sparkling dew with ginger and orange we should imagine between the petals is actually threatening drops of gasoline ready to ignite. It’s so dense it forms a compact paste like modeling clay. A tessellation of corollas that leaves no room for air, like inside a refinery tank. If you want a rose-patchouli that grips like a tick queen, Eau de Protection is your perfume. But beware, with the power come the hydrocarbons. A less potent but more pleasant version is Zara’s Fleur de Patchouli.
Smells like tons of rose and patchouli in equal parts, with a hint of ginger, as if they were ground together in a mortar like an ointment. It’s very potent; I’m not sure if I like it or not, maybe I do… but I’d never buy it myself.
A super safe rose, classic Narciso Rodríguez style. Rose and musk, barely any patchouli. The rest of the notes fade into a ‘seen and not seen’ drydown, so I don’t even count them. Lasts forever, especially if you rub it on your clothes. I was expecting something more challenging. It’s the kind of perfume I wouldn’t buy, but if someone gifted it to me, I’d wear it without hesitation.
Nothing weird about it; it comes out fresh and sparkling, very unisex. As it dries, the rose takes over—musky and slightly woody—but in the end, it’s just a girl’s rose scent, nothing original.
