If you’re a leather lover, you can’t miss this gem: Le Vestiaire – Cuir de YSL (2016), from the Le Vestiaire des Parfum Collection de Nuit line. It starts with a fine wood explosion, enveloping and bright rum that leaves you breathless, reminiscent of Amouage Jubilation for a moment thanks to its guaiac wood. Then comes a realistic, sober, and elegant tobacco, but that’s just the prologue. After a few minutes, the star emerges: a leather that is both shiny and sober, precious and surprising for how bold, modern, and masculine it is. When I smell it, I imagine a flawless tuxedo or a guy in jeans and a leather jacket at a bar; it fits perfectly for any occasion and leaves no one indifferent. The performance is excellent. Maybe the 125ml bottle is pricey, but it’s a luxury totally worth it. I’ve been head over heels for it since I smelled it straight from the bottle. Scent: 10, Sillage/Projection: 9, Longevity: 8.5.
