Descripción

CH L'Eau 2017 by Carolina Herrera is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Olivier Cresp. Its olfactory structure unfolds with top notes of lemon, sour lime, blood orange, Tunisian neroli, red chili, and Guatemalan cardamom; a heart of lemon, sour lime, tea, ginger, yerba mate, orange blossom, and rose; and a base that reveals Haitian vetiver, Atlas cedar, musk, patchouli, and cashmere wood.

I must admit I don’t like Carolina Herrera fragrances, but this one surpassed them all. I define it in one phrase: cheap hotel soap smell. If you don’t want to smell like that (and I believe no woman wants to smell like that), DO NOT BUY IT. You have been warned.

I tried it at the freeshop and liked it because it’s very citrusy and different from the usual CH scents. I smelled it again at a local perfumery and got that good feeling back. Almost bought it, but I already have my summer fragrance. It has personality, it’s citrusy without being sweet, and the longevity is top-notch; it lasted hours on my skin. It’s ambiguous, I think it suits everyone. I don’t understand the negative comments; to me, it’s a gem. I bought it years ago and I love the spicy opening with a warm base; it breaks the pattern of simple citrus. You can detect the lime, ginger, and neroli, along with that warm and spicy touch that must be cardamom and chili, though they don’t feel exactly like that. It lasted over 8 hours with a huge sillage. It’s a little gem, pity it’s not more available in the market.

I tested it in the freeshop months ago and was drawn to it for being very citrusy and distinct from other CH scents. I tried it again at a local perfumerie and remembered the pleasant feeling. I was about to buy it if not for already having my summer fragrance. It has personality; it’s citrusy but not sweet. Longevity is excellent, lasting hours on my skin. It’s quite ambiguous, I think it’s unisex. I don’t know why it generated so many negative comments; in my opinion, it’s good. 08-01-2025: I had forgotten about this 2018 review. Finally, this beauty is part of my collection. I love the spicy citrus opening with a warm base. It breaks the cliché of the simple citrus perfume. You can detect the lime, ginger, and neroli, plus something warm and spicy that must be cardamomo and chili. You don’t smell the cardamomo or chili per se, but they add warmth and spice. Lasts more than 8 hours on skin. Sillage is enormous! It’s a gem, pity it’s not more available.

  • Excellent perfume, smells more masculine than feminine. I think you have to give it a fair chance before saying stupid things right away. I advise giving it a full wear.

  • October 2018: This perfume was a total and pleasant surprise upon first try. Maybe many people won’t like it or find it strange, since it’s not what you expect from a women’s perfume, especially compared to the previous CH L’Eau de 2011, which I think was more feminine. For me, it’s totally unisex; there are moments it smells more like a man’s scent. It’s fresh, green, floral, spicy, and woody. Not sweet. For spring and summer, more for daytime. Though it would look good on a hot night. Although it’s very wearable, it has a touch of relaxed elegance. It feels like a blend of refreshing citrus notes, green tea, and mate. White flowers like neroli, orange blossom, and hints of roses. Freshly spicy with ginger and cardamomo. Woody with cedar and vetiver. On the masculine side, it reminded me of Herrera for Men. If this smells like soap! To me, it’s very luxurious. Aside from the irony, I’d love for it to be my summer fragrance, but the price is through the roof. I’ll look for a more affordable replacement. Recommend trying it, men and women. Greetings. Addendum: It doesn’t resemble the D&G one at all.

  • It’s the only bottle I liked. Unfortunately, it smells cheap. A regular scent, not as citrusy or fresh as they say; it’s more in the middle due to the notes. The heart notes make it less light. It didn’t surprise me for better or worse; I don’t expect much from Carolina anymore. It doesn’t smell bad, but I’ve smelled it in 20 low-cost perfumes, so it’s not innovative, refreshing, or good. I liked the bottle, but it’s a generic fragrance; if it disappears, no big deal. I only bought it because it’s CH.

  • It’s the only bottle I liked. Unfortunately, it smells cheap. The aroma is average, not as citrusy or fresh as they say; it’s in the middle due to the notes. The heart notes make it less light. I wasn’t surprised, good or bad; I don’t expect much from Carolina anymore. It doesn’t smell bad, but I’ve heard it exaggerated about 20 times in low-cost perfumes; innovative, refreshing, or good isn’t it. I liked the bottle, but it’s a run-of-the-mill fragrance; if it disappears, it would be without much fuss or glory. I only bought it because it’s CH.

  • Guys, amazing perfume! Subtle, fresh, and pleasant. A citrus fragrance ideal for hot afternoons and summer nights. One of my favorites.

Just tried it today. I loved the bottle, but the scent didn’t surprise me. It doesn’t smell bad, just nothing innovative or different. However, I put it on two hours ago and it still smells. Projection 9, Scent 8, Longevity 9.

  • It doesn’t smell bad; it’s great for summer or the gym without overwhelming anyone. At first, after 45 minutes, it smelled like floor-cleaning lemon—no offense—but then boom: femininity emerged, it warmed up, turning into woods and musk, even reminiscent of the original CH. The sillage and projection are wider than the CH, but clean and citrusy. You won’t suffocate anyone in the office. I give it 8/10 because the initial note of cleaning lemon was off-putting.

  • It’s become one of my favorites for hot weather. Fresh and persistent, it seems like it doesn’t smell like anything, but it does. People asked me about it after a while, so it works. I’m into fruity scents, especially citrus, so there’s nothing wrong with it. It energizes and relaxes me; I love it.

  • It’s become one of my summer favorites. Fresh and persistent, it seems like it doesn’t smell, but it does. I walked past someone and they asked about it, so it projects well. I’m into fruity scents, especially citrus, so I have no complaints. It energizes and relaxes me. I love it.

  • Sent it to me by mistake; I wanted the Rosita. The moment I smelled it, I swore it was a man’s scent: the leather, ginger, and yerba mate give it a very masculine touch. I love citrus, but this is strong. If I don’t return it, I’ll gift it to my husband, but first I’ll give it a try. I never would have bought it myself; I prefer something more feminine.

  • I bought it by mistake; I ordered the rose one, and they sent this instead. I complained because when I smelled it, I thought it was masculine, and I was surprised that it’s feminine. I love citrus, but the leather, ginger, and grass make it very masculine. If I don’t swap it, I’ll offer it to my husband 😅, but first, I’ll give it a chance. I would never have bought it; I prefer something more feminine.

A colleague offered me this fragrance at a good price. I thought about keeping it to gift to a woman among my loved ones. It comes with its case and body lotion. I read interesting comments; the notes and the fact that it seems unisex caught my attention. I tested it on my skin and I’ve loved it. I find it similar to Acqua di Parma colognes (X, Y, Z): dry citrus, white flowers refreshing fougery herbs, and a warm, elegant woody base. I think I’ll keep it for myself. I liked it immensely. I can assure you that on my skin and in the heat, no one would suspect it’s feminine. I’m more convinced that most perfumes are unisex; your skin and mood will make the perfect complement. If you find it at a good price, don’t hesitate to buy it. It’s very cool.

A colleague offered it to me at a good price, and I thought about giving it away, but after testing it on my skin, I decided to keep it. It reminds me of Acqua di Parma colognes: those dry citrus notes, refreshing white flowers, herbs, and warm, elegant woods. I loved it. In summer, no one would suspect it’s feminine. I’m convinced that most are unisex; it all depends on your skin and your attitude. If you find it at a good price, buy it without hesitation. It’s very cool.

  • As a citrus buyer, I’d say it’s one of the sweetest and spiciest I own. Although it’s a fresh summer scent, I keep it in my collection for autumn because its citrus aroma is sweeter. Rose is a note I usually dislike, but here it’s perfectly balanced. It’s not complex or special, ideal for the office. I’m not sure if I’d buy it again; it’s that kind of versatile perfume for various contexts. I spray it and perceive the citrus note without acidity, sensing bergamot and roses with touches of ginger, tea, and aliscler that give it lightness. Soon the woody note appears, which, along with the grass and tea, could be considered unisex-feminine. It reminds me of Tommy Girl, not in notes but in personality, like the adult, more autumnal version. If you want something sweet without being heavy, easy to wear, with a citrus touch without acidity, spiced, long-lasting, and versatile, this could be a great option.

  • Cosmicgirl

Masculine and elegant, maybe not the best choice if you’re looking for femininity. If you’re seeking formality and presence, then yes. It has good sillage, but I’m surprised it’s the only perfume I’ve had that evaporated completely when stored in its box with the lid on, in a good place 🤷🏻♀️.

Masculine and elegant; if you’re looking for femininity, this might not be the best choice. If you want formality and presence, yes. It has good sillage. I was surprised it was the only perfume I’ve owned that completely evaporated while stored in its box with the cap on, in a good place.

  • I love it. I only smell excessive citrus for the first few minutes, then it becomes quite soft. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on me. I like it for very hot days.

  • This fragrance is a resounding NO on my skin. Although it’s very persistent, lasting a long time and being noticeable everywhere, if you like citrus, you might enjoy it. It’s a rare citrus; I feel like it tried to mix with something sweet but didn’t quite work, perhaps also herbal. I smelled it on older people and it can feel elegant, but not for someone young. I bought it thinking it was like the previous CH L’eau, which is gorgeous; it doesn’t resemble it at all. It feels like a strange and ill-judged blend, but I suppose it could work for some. I recommend testing it first.

  • It smells citrusy from start to finish, but with a lot of intensity. At first, it’s a very sharp, acidic lemon, followed by a bitter rind. The green tea note really throws me off, and by the way, it’s quite noticeable.

  • To me, this perfume smells citrusy from start to finish, but very, very citrusy. It starts with lemon, quite acidic and sharp, then moves to bitter lemon peel. The green tea note confuses me; it’s quite noticeable.

  • I tested it on blotter paper, and it’s delicious: citrus at first, then a hint of white flowers with rose standing out against a moderately sweet and fresh patchouli base. I recommend it—you should try it on skin.

  • BleuMinette

One of my favorites for hot weather. It’s citrusy and spiced; I agree it leans slightly masculine, but that doesn’t take anything away from it. It feels refined, understated, and formal for the office. It’s not overwhelming or projecting too much to bother others. People have praised it to me. I love it for daily work.

  • BleuMinette

One of my favorites for hot weather. It’s citrusy and spicy, though some might find it masculine, it doesn’t bother me at all. It looks refined, sober, and formal for the office, without being overwhelming or annoying anyone. I’ve received many compliments, and it’s perfect for everyday work.

  • Karen Campos

For an EDT, the longevity and sillage are incredible. Very fresh and sparkling, ideal for hot days. It’s citrusy and very spicy; I sense a distinct note, probably the ají pepper. That spice is on the edge of what I like; maybe a bit strong and could come across as intrusive. It works great for me at the office in summer. I’m not a huge fan of citrus, but I really like this one, and it carries the CH stamp.

As an EDT, its longevity and sillage are impressive. Very fresh and sparkling, perfect for hot days. It’s citrusy and highly spiced; I detect a distinct note compared to other citrus scents, likely chili pepper. That spicy note is right at the edge of my taste—maybe a bit strong and could come off as intrusive. It works great in the office during heat, which is where I wear it. I’m not a huge fan of citrus, but I really like this one, and it carries the CH signature.

My favorite Carolina Herrera scent has a unique DNA, like almost everything from the brand. I absolutely love it.
