Descripción

Bois de Sauge by Yves Rocher is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2020, this composition features the olfactory signature of Sonia Constant. The top note presents the freshness of clary sage, giving way to the heart note of guaiac wood, and closing with the warmth and depth of the base note of patchouli.

I’ve tried it a couple of times and it smells like Sauvage with a heavy dose of Invictus on top. I see it as super versatile and would prefer it over any designer blue—whether it’s Dylan Blue, Sauvage, or Bleu de Chanel—thanks to its ridiculously low price. It opens strong, aromatic, and very fresh with sage; as it dries down, you get guaiac wood and an almost non-existent patchouli. That guaiac wood is extremely animalic and reminds me of vaginal fluids (no joke). I suppose it also has a rich, warm, spicy note, like cardamom. As for the creation, it feels formidable and superior to the other big-brand blues. The perfumer behind Ombré Leather is no joke. In short: a versatile perfume for $20, excellent longevity—I had it on for about 15 hours and still have traces on my skin after washing my wrist. I recommend trying it for that animalic guaiac twist, but if you like it, buy it now.

I bought the Bois de Sauge and, honestly, I didn’t know Yves Rocher had this line until I read it was created by the same perfumer behind Ombre Leather. At 250 pesos, it was impossible not to add it to the cart. Here’s my take: right out of the bottle, boom, a straight shot of alcohol hits you 💀, but it fades in seconds. Then comes a woody, herbal scent with a subtle smoky touch. After a while, it shifts: it gets powdery, the smoke smells like mild tobacco, and there’s a weird, creamy sweetness, almost milky. Some compare it to a cheap Sauvage, but it’s not that. I see it more as a commercial flanker—easy to wear, clean, and modern, but it won’t blow your mind. Verdict: for $15, it’s a solid perfume that delivers. Not a masterpiece, but it doesn’t disappoint. Lasts about 3 hours with around 12 sprays.
